¹³ Rules for Sexual Relationships. If a man takes a woman and has sex with her, but then he grows to hate her ¹⁴ and he charges her with shameful deeds and publicly defames her name saying, “I married this woman, but when I approached her I discovered that she was not a virgin,” ¹⁵ have the father and mother of the young woman give proof of the young woman’s virginity to the elders at the town gate.^[a]
